Kampanye LH SMPN 5 Surabaya Di Terminal JMP
Siap Digelar
Para siswa yang tergabung dalam kelompok
lingkungan hidup SMP Negeri 5 Surabaya
menyiapkan berbagai kebutuhan untuk kampanye
Carbon Footprint di terminal Jembatan
Merah Plaza (JMP), Senin (31/8). Mereka
nampak siswa sibuk berdiskusi dengan
kelompoknya, agar pada saat kampanye mereka
dapat melakukan dengan sempurna. Sehingga
para pengunjung yang melihat aksi mereka
dapat mengerti apa yang akan disampaikan
oleh para siswa tersebut.

Pemeriksaan Superketat Pada Penutupan TUNZA
International Children and Youth Conference
2009 di Daejeon, Korea Selatan
 Kedatangan
Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup Korea
Selatan pada penutupan TUNZA International
Children and Youth Conference 2009, Daejoun,
Korea Selatan, Kamis (20/8), membuat
pengamanan di lokasi konferensi Daejeon
Convention Centre terlihat sangat ketat.
Hampir setiap pengunjung, undangan dan
delegasi dari seluruh negara tidak lepas
dari pengamanan yang super ketat tersebut.
Selain menggunakan metal detektor, seperti
yang biasa ditemui di bandara pesawat,
keamanan setempat juga memeriksa secara
manual dengan membuka tas-tas yang dibawa
pengunjung.

Korea Selatan
Pada hari ketiga TUNZA International
Children and Youth Conference 2009, Rabu
(19/8), peserta diwajibkan mengikuti seminar
lingkungan hidup dengan tema Sustainable
Living atau hidup berkelanjutan yang
digelar pukul 09.00 waktu setempat. Pada
seminar tersebut berbagai permasalahan
lingkungan hidup terkait dengan pembangunan
yang tidak dilandasi dengan prinsip
berkelanjutan didiskusikan. Para peserta
nampak aktif melakukan tanya jawab pada
seminar tersebut.

Siswa
SDK Kristus Raja Surabaya Buat Penjernihan
Air Sederhana
 Dua
per tiga bumi ini adalah berupa air. Dengan
hanya 3 persennya saja yang merupakan air
tawar (fresh water) yang bisa
digunakan untuk pemenuhan kebutuhan manusia
sehari-hari. Sementara, sebagian besar dari
fresh water berbentuk gunungan es
“abadi” di kutub utara dan selatan.
Pentingnya air ini yang coba disampaikan
oleh Tunas Hijau melalui aktivisnya Bram
Azzaino dan Narendra kepada sekitar 20 siswa
tim lingkungan hidup SDK Kristus Raja
Surabaya, Sabtu (29/8). Di lapangan sekolah
yang berlokasi di Wisma Permai Tengah I,
mereka diajak menghargai air.

Tim Lingkungan Hidup SDK Santa Theresia I
Panen Kompos, Daur Ulang Sampah Plastik dan
Daur Ulang Kertas Bekas
Sampah daun
kering sangat mudah diolah menjadi pupuk
kompos. Ini seperti yang dilakukan oleh
lebih dari 40 siswa anggota tim lingkungan
hidup SDK Santa Theresia I Surabaya, Sabtu
(29/8) pagi. Mereka melakukan panen kompos
sampah daun yang telah memenuhi dua tong
besar di
Recycling Center SDK Santa Theresia I
Surabaya. Bersama Tunas Hijau, aktivitas
panen kompos itu nampak asyik mereka
lakukan. Dengan menggunakan tutup keranjang
untuk menyaring kompos yang sudah jadi dan
mengembalikan kompos yang belum siap dipanen
ke dalam tong.

Menempatkan Tanaman Dalam Pot di Setiap
Kelas

Pita Asrini, siswa SMP Negeri 29 Surabaya
merasa bahwa aktivitasnya selama 7 hari atau
1 minggu sangat padat. Dia tidak menyangka
bahwa diantara aktivitasnya itu ternyata
banyak yang berdampak buruk bagi keadaan
bumi, yang kini sedang gencar-gencarnya
menjadi buah bibir orang banyak. Dampak itu
adalah pemanasan global dan perubahan iklim,
yang menjadi isu nomor 1 dunia abad ini.
“Diantaranya akibat aktivitas-aktivitas yang
saya lakukan itu, rata-rata suhu bumi
menjadi semakin naik, yang berdampak pada
sulitnya diprediksi iklim di bumi ini,” kata

Getting into the SDK Santa Theresia 2, the
soft feeling came again. I love this green
school. What’s more, today is a sunny day.
Today we went there to make activities with
the students. Firstly, we went out to the
street to do interview. And I found out a
problem from the interview. It was a street
with many small restaurants on the two sides
and a river under it. The shopkeepers would
pour all the dirty water into the river
through the pipes in their restaurants. The
teacher told me that what they care about is
just their income but not other people at
all.

good job. They made the props all by

The other two times we talked a lot of water
and discussed how to save water or reuse
water. Actually they have a good water
system and you can see that they are trying
to save water in some details. Like put a
bucket under the air conditioner to hold the
water drop from the pipe.

number. I still remember the first time I
went there. The students sang a song for us
whose singer is Michael Jackson. Today when
we got there we found our students. It is
really nice of them. Because it is their
holiday, they still come to school to take

Universitas Chung Nam telah siap menyambut
para delegasi untuk sarapan pagi. Di setiap
sesi makan, termasuk sarapan kali ini,
kembali delegasi dari negara-negara muslim
menanyakan ke pihak panitia apakah
makanannya mengandung babi atau tidak.

As we know, Indonesia has many islands.
Thus, there must be beach. Everyone likes
sea, sunshine and beach. How about beach
with thousands of rubbish?
We get up very early this morning to go to
the beach in Surabaya. We went there to
collect garbage on the beach with students.
To tell the truth, I was surprised of the
black beach. All you can see was black sand
and rubbish. I tried my best to pick some
plastic garbage. However, the rubbish we
pick today was just extremely little amount
of rubbish on the beach.

paper and reduce the consuming of paper.

To Recycle Paper By Myself

At about 6:30am,
we arrived at a beach of Surabaya. But
instead of visiting, today our job was to
clean the beach by picking up the rubbish
with the mayor. The beach was really very
dirty with many plastic bags, waste paper,
empty bottles and other kinds of rubbish on
the surface or inside the sand. We use our
hands to pick up them and threw into a big
bag just like last time we did in the
mangrove.

250 orang melakukan kerja bakti membersihkan
pantai Kenjeran Surabaya, tepatnya di Taman

selatan, Kamis (20/8). Tidak terkecuali

Kerja bakti yang digelar dalam rangka
peringatan HUT Proklamasi Kemerdekaan
Republik Indonesia dan menyambut Bulan Suci
Ramadhan dilaksanakan mulai pukul 06.00 wib.
Beberapa sekolah sekitar juga nampah
terlibat pada kegiatan untuk membuat pantai
kebanggaan Surabaya itu bersih dari sampah
non organik.

Walking into the SMA 11, I felt very hot.
The reason of this problem may be the lack
of big trees. They indeed have many trees
and most trees were planted by the students.
It’s good that their students enjoy planting
trees and taking care of them everyday.
However, if they can try to plant bigger
trees, it will be helpful to the hot problem
and also it can absorb much more rainwater.

Last night because I cannot fall asleep and
found something to do. Then I sleep very
late, but today they pack us up very early
in the morning almost at 6:50. So when I on
the way to the school in the car I felt very
uncomfortable. I had a heavy headache and
cannot move any more. They found me a place
to have a rest in the school dispensary. I
was so sorry I can just sleep on the bed and
do nothing when they did the presentation.
But after I woke up I felt much better and
eat something. I cannot sleep late from now
on.

Pengenalan air dalam beberapa bahasa
mengawali pembinaan lingkungan hidup yang
dilakukan Tunas Hijau bersama mahasiswa
China Chen Jiahui (Ivy) di SDN Kandangan III
Surabaya, Rabu (19/8) pagi. Air atau dalam
bahasa Inggrisnya adalah water
disampan Ivy bahwa dalam bahasa China adalah
shui. “Air adalah bagian utama dalam
tubuh manusia dan juga planet bumi. Bahkan
2/3 dari bumi adalah berupa air. Begitu juga
80 % tubuh manusia dan hewan adalah berupa
air atau cairan,” kata Ivy kepada lebih dari
25 siswa kelas 5 SDN Kandangan III yang
tergabung dalam kelompok air.

Last time all of us enjoyed ourselves by
playing the
water
pollution
game. Today we went there to discuss with
them about our activities next time. After
our review, we discussed and shared our
ideas. I gave them the ideas of making big
hand and filter. We also had some new idea
today. One is to make a short movie to
reflect the water situation. Students told
me that they can make a short movie. I
suggest them to put some scene of dirty
river and people’s behavior of throwing
rubbish into the river in the movie. And
also they can record their words of
appealing people to aware the water problem.

Lagu itu dinyanyikan oleh puluhan siswa
anggota Tunas Hijau SMP Negeri 37 kelompok
udara yang sedang mengikuti pembinaan yang
dilakukan oleh Tunas Hijau, Selasa (18/8).
Namun, lagu yang mereka nyanyikan tersebut
sudah dimodifikasi menjadi lagu yang
bernuansa lingkungan

bakso keliling yang sudah 20 tahun menghuni

(14/8) siang, membawa semangat bagi para
siswa anggota tim lingkungan hidup sekolah
yang berlokasi di Manukan, Surabaya Barat
ini. Selama sekitar dua jam, kelima
mahasiswa China Jiahui Chen, Ye Xiaohui, Li
Hao, Li Dandan dan Wu Shaojing bersama
beberapa aktivis Tunas Hijau diajak
mengunjungi setiap jengkal sekolah yang

Pemanasan Global, Volume Air Sungai di
Lumajang Dan Telaga Sarangan Magetan Menurun
Sesi pembinaan lingkungan hidup oleh Tunas
Hijau di SMP Negeri 29 Surabaya, Kamis
(13/8), digunakan Yatik Pita untuk berbagi
pengalaman lingkungan hidupnya. Menurut
siswa kelas 9E SMP Negeri 29 Surabaya ini
dampak pemanasan global semakin tahun
semakin buruk dan semakin terasa hampir di
setiap penjuru dunia. “Tidak terkecuali di
desa tempat keluargaku berasal di Lumajang,”
kata Yatik Pita, 14 tahun, siswa kelas 9 E
SMP Negeri 29 Surabaya. Pada pembinaan
lingkungan hidup ini Tunas Hijau melibatkan
kelima simpatisan mahasiswa China Jiahui
Chen, Ye Xiaohui, Li Hao, Li Dandan dan Wu
Shaojing menjadi narasumber.

Siswa SMP Negeri 5 Surabaya Menyusun Aksi
 Sesi
pembinaan lingkungan hidup kali ketiga di
SMP Negeri 5 Surabaya dilakukan oleh Tunas
Hijau bersama mahasiswa simpatisan dari
China, Kamis (13/8). Pada sesi pembinaan ini
difokuskan pada penyusunan rencana aksi
lingkungan hidup sesuai dengan 3 tema yang
dibahas pada dua pembinaan sebelumnya.
Ketiga tema tersebut adalah polusi udara,
polusi air dan carbon footprint atau
jejak karbondioksida. Kelima mahasiswa China
Ivy, Shelly, Li Dandan, Michael dan Li Hao
bersama beberapa aktivis Tunas Hijau memandu
penyusunan rencana aksi ini.

Today we went to the SDK
Kristus

Surabaya
again. We have been there two times before.
The first time I made a short presentation
for them and did the filter experiment. Last
time we played games with them. And since
next week we are going to have some
activities here, so this time we just did
some preparation for it. After our
discussion, we decided to ask the students
to make a big filter next week and give some
presentation in front of other students.
This is a way to propagate the idea of water
problem and water protection. We asked them
to prepare the materials the filter need
after they go home.

I remember the primary school because I went
to Jakarta
with the teachers in that school. Since the
time is limited, we just gave a short

Materials

Today we went to the SDN Petemon
13 Surabaya.
I still remember we had come to this school
several weeks before because last time we
visited their school. Students there tried
to make many interesting things by some
recycle material. They used plastic to make
clothes, hats and some flowers. Beside this,
there are also many green plants in their
school. Although the school was small, they
hang many plants on the ceiling and use some
wasted iron pot to grow the plants.

went to the new host family, we had a good
sleep there. So this morning I was in a good
condition.
First we went to an elementary school,
SDN Petemon 13 Surabaya.
On the way there we had four people seated
in the back row of the car. It was really
crowded, which made us very happy to see the
first school. This was a small school with
only one building and a small yard. But it
was interesting.

Surabaya, Senin (10/8). Mereka adalah Peter
van der Jagt dan Eelco van Ruiten yang
merupakan orang tua dan teman dekat
Pasquelle van der Jagt, mahasiswa Belanda
peserta magang di Tunas Hijau. Pada sesi
pertama Peter dan Eelco diawali bersama
siswa kelas 4 & 5. Peter van der Jagt
menjelaskan tentang posisi geografis
Belanda. “Sebelah Timur Belanda berbatasan
dengan laut dan bagian Barat Belanda
berdampingan dengan negara-negara Eropa
lainnya,” kata Peter van der Jagt.

dan dilakukan pada usia dini. Kegiatan yang

Kecamatan Tambaksari ini diselenggarakan di
aula SDK Santa Theresia I Surabaya, Senin
(10/8). Lebih dari 60 guru mengikuti

This morning we went to the SDN
Medokan
Semampir
260
Surabaya.
We also divided into three groups and made
presentation about each topic for one and
half hours. Ella told me that students in
this school don’t know a lot of English
because they seldom have English classes. So
we just communicated by translator. Firstly
they played an Indonesian instrument for us.
It’s an instrument made by bamboo. I told
them something about the significance of
water and water problem. They know almost
nothing about water problem. I think that’s
why we need to make these presentations.

Workshop
Udara di SDN Petemon XIII Surabaya

puluh siswa SDN Petemon XIII Surabaya
mengikuti workshop bertema udara yang
digelar Tunas Hijau, Rabu (4/8) di SDN
Petemon XIII Surabaya. Pada workshop ini,
para siswa SDN Petemon XIII dibekali
pemahaman tentang aktivitas manusia yang
berkontribusi terhadap pencemaran udara.
Dijelaskan oleh Narendra banyak kegiatan
kita yang berkontribusi terhadap pencemaran
udara. “Contohnya nih di rumah,
banyak kan kegiatan kita yang
menimbulkan polusi udara,” ujar Narendra
sambil menunjukkan gambar rumah yang berisi
berbagai aktifitas yang dapat menimbulkan
pencemaran udara.

Lomba Mural, Karang Taruna Desa Claket
Rayakan HUT RI Dan Ruwah Desa
 Berbeda
dengan perayaan Hari Ulang Tahun Republik
Indonesia (HUT RI) yang lazim dilaksanakan,
bersama Tunas Hijau, Karang Taruna Desa
Claket, Kecamatan Pacet, Mojokerto memaknai
perayaan tersebut dengan cara yang berbeda.
Bertepatan dengan perayaan “Ruwah Desa
Claket”, berbagai kegiatan unik digelar.
Diantaranya lomba Mural Art Miles, yaitu
menggambar di kain dengan ukuran 200 m x 160
m. tema yang diambil pun sarat dengan nuansa
pelestarian lingkungan, yaitu “Hutan Dataran
Tinggi dan Sumber Air”.
